How Equine-assisted and Solution-focused Therapy can help you.
Equine-assisted therapy (EAP) utilizes a horse’s nonverbal communication to help clients learn about themselves through planned activities and discussion. It gives the client a “hands on” experience where they can gain greater insight into their feelings, thoughts, and behavior patterns. See an example of a session.
Solution-focused therapy shifts the focus to the present, the future, and on solutions rather than on problems and the past. Essentially, it is change talk rather than problem talk.
Some of the benefits of Equine-Assisted Therapy include the ability to discover solutions to your problems and then “try out” before applying them in your everyday life. It can also be considered Brief Therapy. Brief therapy is short-term therapy where specific issues or concerns are addressed.
